How does a sales campaign work?

This is kind of the whole point, so we better get it right 😊

At Feral Horses, we’re constantly working on sourcing new art pieces to put on the platform. When new artwork is ready to be sold by an artist, an art gallery or a collector on Feral Horses, we open a sales campaign.

Let’s make it simple:

A sales campaign allows you to buy shares of a specific artwork at a fixed price, thus becoming an art co-owner.

Fancy anything?

You can check out which campaigns are currently open by going to the Campaigns Page. Each campaign has a time frame by which the target has to be reached, we’ll notify you periodically on the campaign progress, but better not risk to miss out on an opportunity because you waited too long! Campaigns can also close earlier if all available shares are purchased before the set end date.

On the Campaigns Page, hovering over each specific campaign will show you the Artist and Artwork names, time left to join the campaign, the set price per share, the total value of the piece as well as the progress of the funding status. Clicking on the campaign will expand the description of the piece and information on the artist as well as the share purchasing options.

I want in!

Once you decide to join a campaign, you have a few options. We know our community is truly passionate about art, that’s why most campaigns are designed to offer reward packages for their co-owners. Rewards are unique to each campaign, they can vary from art world experiences (e.g. studio visits, exhibition inaugurations, etc…) to physical items you get to enjoy at home, such as prints and books signed by the artist. The type of reward depends on the number of shares you decide to purchase.

To make it easier, we create some pre-crafted reward packages for each campaign. From the specific campaign page, you can see how many shares correspond to which rewards. Do you want to purchase a different number of shares with respect to the suggested packages? Fear not, of course, there’s always the option to select your desired number of shares.

Does it mean I automatically co-own the artwork?

Not yet, now we have to wait for the campaign to close. If the campaign is successful, your rewards are sent out, the certificates of ownership are issued, and all the co-owners become the legal owners of the artwork. Congrats, you’re now an art co-owner!

If instead the artwork is not fully funded by the end of the sale time (ouch!), all the co-owners are fully refunded. If you want to help the campaign close faster, you can always use your unique referral code in the Referral Page to onboard more friends.

What happens after a campaign is closed successfully?

Let’s focus on the positives: the campaign was successful and you’re an art co-owner, what now? You can review your pieces in the My Museum Page. Feral Horses will update you if and when the artwork is exhibited. Wouldn’t it be great to go see it live? You’ll be the first to know!

Once you purchase shares of an artwork, you also get access to the Feral Community, where you can connect with other co-owners and discuss art-related topics, get updates on initiatives near you and much more. Every time we have new artwork on sale, we’ll notify all Feral Users via email.

Hopefully, this was helpful. If you still have questions, drop us a quick message on our live chat, located at the bottom right of the website, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can 💪. If it’s all clear, go check out our active sales campaigns!
