During the first two weeks of December 2017, the Feral Horses team has ran a pop-up art gallery in Deptford Market Yard. On its last evening, we have partnered with SoFar Sound to celebrate art in its many forms together.
What’s SoFar Sound?
“Sofar Sounds is reimagining the live event experience through curated, intimate performances in more than 350 cities around the world.”
“Who’s ever been to a bad gig?” That how the SoFar team always start to introduce why they do what they do. Everyone is answering this question in a quarter of a second. Remember that time it was pouring and you had to queue for hours? What about that time you paid expensive tickets to end up drinking warm beer? Don’t even get me started on that time you had to watch the concert through the smart phone of the very tall girl that was in front of you.
Therefore, what SoFar does is putting together great intimate and affordable concerts in unique venues, like someone’s living room or our pop up gallery!
How was it like to host an event?
Three words: fun as hell! SoFar teams are incredibly professional and looked after everything for us. The artists were incredibly talented and the small crowd was warm, friendly and polite. We’ll be very happy to do it again.
Who were the Performers?
We had the chance to have three eclectic young performers. Sara Hirsch is a poet and she completely blew our mind away with her effortless charisma and her killer jokes. Will Varley is a singer and he totally saw a few similarities with our dear Drew Holcomb. Last but not least, Iosif Purits plays the accordion. He was initially described to us as “crazy in a great way” and we couldn’t agree more!
